About the Artist

Hello art lovers! Welcome to my website. My name is Samantha Lavi, and I am a Long Island NY based Artist. I received my Bachelor's degree in Child Study with a concentration in Art from St. Joseph's College NY in 2013. I have a Master's Degree in Special Education as well. As a special educator I always strive to instill a love of the arts in my students, and I utilize art as a means of expression and relaxation for students.

 

As a young child I always had an interest in creating art. I was busted on several occasions creating "masterpieces" on the walls or hidden underneath furniture. I started to take private art lessons with my sister at the age of 8 and learned to work with acrylic paint. I took numerous art classes in high school as well. During my formal art education I focused on developing my technical skills in the areas of drawing, painting, and photography. I have recently come to love working in 3D with polymer clay and wire. I currently enjoy photography, acrylic painting, drawing with various mediums, clay sculpting, wire sculpting, and creating wire jewelry. I am also embarking on a new journey in learning to create wood carvings. I typically have 4 or more projects across different mediums that I am working on at once. I draw the majority of my inspiration from nature and dreams. I hope you enjoy exploring my online gallery of creations. Don't forget to stop by my shop!
